こんにちは、M1の谷澤です。
先日、滝沢研究室と小林・佐藤研究室の合同で行われるヘネパタゼミが始まりました。
ヘネパタゼミとは、パターソンとヘネシーが書いた「コンピュータの構成と設計」という本を読み、その本の内容を発表するゼミとなっています。
今年度は、発表者として滝沢研究室からはB4が3人、小林・佐藤研究室からはB4とB3が合わせて5人参加しています。また、アドバイザ役としてそれぞれの研究室からM1が3人ずつ参加しています。
コンピュータの構成の基本について理解を深め、今後の研究に活かしていきたいですね。

2024年4月17日から19日にかけて，第27回IEEE Symposium on Low-Power and High-Speed Chips and Systems (COOL Chips 27)が開催されました．
様々な発表がありましたが，PiM(Processing in Memory)やCiM(Compute in Memory)に関する発表が，私にとって印象的でした．
私は，AIにより発生する膨大なエネルギー消費を，これらの技術により軽減することが，重要であると考えています．
また，私は自分の研究進捗を発表しました．
発表を通して，他の参加者から多くの有益なコメントを頂き，他の発表者との議論も行うことができました．これらは非常に興味深く，今後の研究に活かしていきたいと思います．

The 27th IEEE Symposium on Low-Power and High-Speed Chips and Systems (COOL Chips 27) was successfully held during April 17-19, 2024.
The presentations and discussions on PiM (Processing in Memory) and CiM (Compute in Memory) at the conference were impressive.
How to use these techniques to mitigate the huge amount of energy consumption generated by AI computation is becoming an important topic.
I was delighted to present the progress of my research as a poster.
I received many useful comments and suggestions from other participants.
Additionally, the discussions with other poster presenters were interesting.

The Laboratory Seminars is a weekly seminar held in the entire laboratory. B4 students also started participating from today.

The other day, we had a cherry blossom viewing in front of Kawauchi Hagi Hall. It was a lot of fun for everyone to bring food and drinks and talk with each other.
The cherry blossoms bloomed earlier than normal this year, and it was a very nice day for cherry blossom viewing. It is nice to spend time outside once in a while for a change.

先日、川内萩ホール前でお花見を行いました。みんなで食べ物や飲み物を持ち寄ってお話をするのはとても楽しかったです。
今年も平年より早く桜が開花し、とてもお花見日和な1日でした。たまには外でゆっくり過ごすのも気分転換になって良いですね。
Hello, my name is Tanizawa, and I will be an M1 student from April.
On March 26, we had a graduation and degree conferment ceremony. I have mixed feelings of happiness and sadness when I think that this is the end of my undergraduate life.
From April, the seniors who have taken care of me will be gone, and at the same time, the environment will change drastically. With a fresh start, I will do my best in my future research.

3月26日に卒業式と学位授与式がありました。これで学部生活が終わるのかと思うとうれしいような悲しいような複雑な気持ちです。
4月からはお世話になった先輩方がいなくなると同時に環境が大きく変わると思います。心機一転して今後の研究も頑張っていこうと思います。

A Multidisciplinary Seminar was held on March 6. M1 student Koda gave a presentation at the seminar.
In the Multidisciplinary Seminar, we present our research results and future research plans to M1 students in other laboratories.
It was very difficult to explain our current research to students from other fields in an easy-to-understand manner. However, we received comments from various perspectives, and it was a very valuable time for us.
I would like to do my best in my future research by referring to the comments I received!
