We held a Imoni Festival in our laboratory!
We made two kinds, one miso-flavored and the other soy sauce-flavored, and both were delicious!
It was a little cold, but everyone who attended seemed to enjoy it very much!
Prof. Takahashi gave a talk at the 191st IPSJ SIGHPC meeting
Assistant Professor Keichi Takahashi presented the following paper at the 191st IPSJ SIGHPC meeting held at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Tohoku University on September 26-27, 2023. This paper reports the initial performance evaluation of Cyberscience Center’s new supercomputer, AOBA-S, which started operation in August 2023.

The graduate exam is over.
Hello, this is Katayama from B4.
The results of the graduate school entrance examination were announced the other day, and three fourth-year undergraduate students in Takizawa Laboratory have been accepted!
I am relieved that all of us were able to pass the exam without any problems, and at the same time, I renewed my determination to work even harder for my graduation research, which is about to begin in earnest.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my professors and seniors for their constant support during the preparation period for the graduate school examinations.
I will do my best even after entering graduate school!
BBQ was held!
As a welcome party for B3 and a farewell party for Dominik and Sun, we had a BBQ with our lab members.
Everyone enjoyed the BBQ very much after a long absence!
M1 Koda received the Outstanding Effort Award at xSIG 2023
Koda, M1 student in our laboratory, received the Outstanding Effort Award for his paper presented at xSIG 2023.
This award recognizes “the time and effort spent on the implementation and data acquisition related to the technical contribution of the paper”, and is an objective recognition of Koda’s efforts. We hope that this award will encourage him to aim higher!
M1 Koda and B4 Asia presented at SWoPP 2023
Koda of M1 and Asia of B4 in our laboratory presented the following papers at xSIG 2023 and 190th HPC meeting held at SWoPP 2023, respectively.

After the presentation, there were many questions from the audience, indicating that there was a lot of interest in the presentation.
Let’s use this as a springboard for further development of our research!

Satake’s work presented at iWAPT2023.
At an international workshop, iWAPT2023, Prof. Takizawa presented the work done by Moto Satake who completed his master course in March 2023. The workshop is about software performance automatic tuning, so the audiences were interested in the proposed parallel execution method of Bayesian optimization, and thus we had fruitful discussions at the workshop. The information about the paper is as follows.
